Frequently Asked Questions - Web Hosting

No, we don't offer any plans that you can set the features and/or limits, but our plan lineup spans the web hosting spectrum. We offer only one shared hosting package that have been expertly designed to fit your website.

It is better NOT to notify your current hosting provider. Here are the steps:

  1. You need a hosting account with SINGHOST.NET. You can order a hosting account here: http://singhost.net/hosting/web-hosting.html
  2. After you order and make payment, you will receive an account setup email after an hour or two.
  3. With our hosting account information, you can upload your website and create email addresses.
  4. It's time to go ahead and request a domain transfer with your domain registrar. Point the domain name to our name servers (find it in the welcome email) and wait until the changes have propagated.
  5. About 24 to 48 hours after your domain registrar make the transfer, your domain should be pointing to your new hosting account with SINGHOST.NET and your website as well as emails should still be up and running without any problems.
  6. Let a few days pass by just to make sure your domain points to your SINGHOST.NET hosting account everywhere in the world. You can now cancel your old hosting account with your old hosting company/email provider. To check: go to command prompt: type ping yourdomainname.com, if it returns your IP address (sent in welcome email), it would be correct.

We used to host customer accounts on single server. That is story of years ago. We have developed our hosting technology so that all new hosting servers will be clustered.

What does it mean by "clustered servers"?
Before Cluster technology was found, one single server will host all services: web, email, database, dns... It makes server overload easily. If server is down, all services will be down. "Clustering servers" is technology that a few servers will take care of the job, not only one.

What is the struture of SINGHOST.NET Clustered Server?
In order to host your account, we have the following servers:

  • 2 DNS Servers
  • 1 web and email server
  • 1 primary database server
  • 1 replication database server
  • 1 secondary MX email server
  • 1 data backup server

Our engineers design this structure to have every single thing backed up in case of hardware failure or downtime.

All of our new hosting servers are equipped with the following hardware specs:

  • Brand: HP, DELL
  • 1 quad-core processor or 2 dual-core processors
  • 4GB of RAM minimum
  • RAID-1 Storage controller (support instant backup with 2 hard drives)

HOSTCOMMERCE comes with RapidSSL® Certificate which is sold at US$75/year on their official website.

The file storage is used for the following services:

  • Website
  • Email
  • logs, stats, other config files

while the database storage is only used for MySQL database.

Normally we will provide huge file storage and limited database storage due to the fact that database size is usually very small. They are counted separately (Database storage is not part of file storage).
